Six from Gujarat in top 100 of NEET-UG 2024; Four secure 720/720

Ahmedabad: Six students from Gujarat finished in the top 100 of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate 2024 (NEET-UG), the results of which were declared on Tuesday.
A total of 24.06 lakh candidates from across the country, including 86,424 from Gujarat, took the test in May. Out of these, 13.16 lakh candidates qualified, with 57,197 of them being from Gujarat. The test consists of 180 multiple-choice questions with a total weightage of 720 marks. This year, 67 students from across the country achieved AIR 1 by scoring above the 99.99 percentile.
From Gujarat, Ved Patel, Kirti Sharma, Darsha Padadhar, and Rishabh Shah secured All India Rank (AIR) 1, while Harvy Patel secured AIR 81, and Bhumika Shekhawat got AIR 92. Rishabh Shah, who scored a perfect 720 out of 720 to achieve AIR 1, said he completed Class 10 under CBSE but Class 12 under GSHSEB. “I was expecting 710 but got a perfect score,” he added.
Ved Patel from Ahmedabad, who also achieved a perfect score, said, “My father is an engineer, but I wanted to pursue medicine like my elder sister, who is an MBBS and my inspiration. She helped me with my preparations.”
