Mahisagar: A complaint has been filed with local police revealing irregularities in the government’s Nal Se Jal scheme. According to the FIR, 27 contractors responsible for various tasks, including laying pipelines for drinking water, have been blacklisted by the Water and Sanitation Management Organization (WASMO), a special purpose vehicle of the Gujarat government, for significant irregularities.
WASMO’s complaint alleges that a contractor hired for operation and maintenance was barred from working in the district because he was not from Mahisagar. The complaint also states that employees of JD Construction were threatened over the phone on May 22nd for undertaking the work. Later, when engineer Brijesh Parajapati went to address a leakage, he was again threatened by an aide of Kalpesh Shah, who runs an agency called Chirag Ring Service. The accused named are Shah and an unidentified person.
Girish Agalo, WASMO’s unit manager, stated that action against the 27 contractors was taken due to the non-completion of work and other irregularities.
