Gandhinagar: Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today hailed the placement of Smriti Van Earthquake Museum in Bhuj on the list of the world’s seven most beautiful museums by UNESCO. The Chief Minister described this as a proud moment for Gujarat and Bharat. The Smruti Van Memorial has been declared as one of the seven most beautiful museums in the prestigious list of Prix Versailles Award, which is conferred every year by UNESCO in the domain of Architecture and Design.
The Chief Minister noted that it is the first time that any museum in India has been globally recognized for the expression of local culture and environmental protection. He added that the museum was realized as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in memory of the people who died in the 2001 Kutch Earthquake. The museum is located on Bhujiya hill in Bhuj and is surrounded by thousands of green trees. DeshGujarat
