Gandhinagar: Another BJP MLA has openly criticized the lethargic attitude and inactivity of local government officials. Manavdar MLA Arvind Ladani rebuked the Municipality Chief Officer and Mamlatdar on Saturday in ‘Lok Darbar’ organized by him at local government office.
Ladani sat on the floor and alleged that the officials had engaged in corruption related to the sale of municipality scrap. He alleged corruption of Lakhs of Rupees in selling of scrap. Additionally, the officials faced criticism from Ladani for their handling of the “failed pre-monsoon plan.”
Ladani said, a Lok Darbar was called in the Mamlatdar office in which people raised the issue like no gutter cleaning before monsoon, no cleaning of water discharge channels where Ganda Baval trees have come up, fales excuse of the model code of conduct by officials, dumped waste on open etc.
Ladani said Mamlatdar of Manavadar didn’t remain present in this Lok Darbar. Ladani alleged the Mamlatdar is corrupt and colluded with previous Chief Officer in corruption of selling of scrap. He said if Chief Officer doesn’t keep his promise to take actions by 24 June regarding pre-monsoon works, the locals will do agitation on June 25.
Ladani who was elected as Congress MLA in Manavdar in 2022 elections, later resigned and joined BJP. He contested by-poll as BJP candidate recently and got re-elected.
It’s noteworthy that MLAs Yogesh Patel, Dhavalsinh Zala, Ketan Inamdar, Abhesinh Tadvi, Amul Bhatt, DK Swami, Janak Talaviya, and Sanjay Koradiya have also recently openly opposed local-level corruption, misgovernance, lethargy, and irregularities on the part of government officials. DeshGujarat
