Gandhinagar: The state capital of Gujarat has got a new mayor today. Miraben Patel has been elected as the Mayor of the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation. Miraben represents Ward No. 10 in the civic body of the state capital. The new mayor has been elected as the previous mayor’s 2.5-year term has ended.

In today’s General Assembly of the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, Councilor Miraben Patel and Natwarji Mathurji Thakor were unanimously elected by the 41 members of the ruling BJP. Gaurang Vyas has been appointed as the Chairman of the Standing Committee.

Expressing her views, Miraben Patel, the newly elected Mayor of Gandhinagar, acknowledged the progress made under Hiteshbhai Makwana’s leadership over the past two and a half years. She emphasized that over the next term, their focus will be on prioritizing the development of newly included villages within the city and the corporation.
