July 11, 2024
Gandhinagar: Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) has announced the cancellation of classes from July 12 as the classrooms and hostels on the university campus have been grappling with a millipede infestation.
In an email to students, GNLU registrar Jagdeesh Chandra T G stated, “To effectively manage the millipede presence in and around the hostel areas and allow students to return home safely during professional pest control treatments, the university has decided to conduct online classes from Monday, July 15.”
The infestation had worsened in the past four days with reports that millipedes have covered the walls of hostels and some classrooms, causing alarm among students.
The university administration initially attempted to resolve the problem with its sanitation staff, but the situation deteriorated. The university has now sought assistance from the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation and entomologists for an effective solution. DeshGujarat
