Gandhinagar: A clerk of the state Education Department has been suspended after being accused of corruption. Clerk Ashish Bagda was suspended for demanding a bribe in exchange for granting permission for the operation of trust-run colleges.
Principal Secretary of the Education Department (Higher & Technical Education), Mukesh Kumar, has ordered an investigation into the matter, with the report to be submitted within one week.
It is learned that Ashish Bagda, while serving as a clerk in the department, made WhatsApp calls to the administrators of such colleges and institutes that had applied for certain permissions from the Education Department. The applicants who received these calls recorded them and presented the evidence to the administration, leading to the suspension of Ashish Bagda. DeshGujarat
