Red alerts in parts of Gujarat; IMD predicts very heavy rain in next 48 hours

Gandhinagar: Gujarat has been witnessing heavy and very heavy rainfall for the past few days, and this phenomenon is likely to continue for the next week. The Indian Meteorological Department, in its latest forecast, has issued a red alert for some places in Gujarat for the next 48 hours.

According to the IMD’s latest bulletin, a red alert is in place for the districts of Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Dwarka, and Gir Somnath. However, Narmada, Bharuch, Dang, and Tapi, along with Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Kutch, and Diu, have been put on orange alert for the next 24 hours.

A yellow warning has been issued for Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Surendranagar, Morbi, and Botad.

On July 19, red alerts are in place for Valsad, Porbandar, and Dwarka, while Surat, Navsari, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Junagadh, Amreli, and Somnath are on orange alert.

Yellow warnings have been issued for Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Narmada, Bharuch, Tapi, Dangs, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, and Kutch.

On July 20, Orange alerts are only in place for Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli. Yellow warnings have been issued for Bharuch, Dang, Tapi, Porbandar, Junagadh, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, and Diu.

On July 21, yellow warnings are in place for Sakata Herbalife, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Amreli, Gir Somnath, Bhavnagar, and Diu.

On July 22, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Amreli, and Bhavnagar will be on orange alert, with yellow warnings issued for Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Narmada, Bharuch, Dang, Junagadh, Somnath, and Diu.
