Two new flyover bridges to come up on SG Highway
July 18, 2024
Ahmedabad: Two new flyover bridges are set to be constructed on the busy Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway, which connects Ahmedabad with the state capital. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has approved a new flyover that will connect the existing Gota Crossroads flyover to Nirma University, bypassing congested junctions at Jagatpur and Chharodi.
Another approved project is a flyover that will link the Iskcon flyover to YMCA Club via Karnavati Club Road. Construction for both these flyovers is expected to commence after the monsoon. Once completed, these projects will provide commuters from Gandhinagar with an uninterrupted elevated corridor from the Narmada canal to YMCA Club.
As per a newspaper report, the tendering process for the Gota to Nirma University flyover has already commenced, and bids have been received.
Currently, the stretch from YMCA to Nirma University features several flyovers and an underpass at Iskcon Crossroads, Pakwan Junction, Thaltej Underpass, Sola, and Gota Chowkdi. DeshGujarat
