Schools in multiple districts of Gujarat closed due to heavy rain, IMD red alert

Valsad: With heavy incessant rains and further predictions of very heavy rains, a holiday has been declared in schools across many districts today. Schools have been closed in Valsad, Surat, Navsari, and Bharuch.
Valsad Collector announced, “In view of the current situation in Valsad district due to heavy rains and the red alert issued by the Meteorological Department, all Anganwadis, Schools, Colleges, and ITIs of Valsad District will be closed on Wednesday, 24/07/2024, as a security measure.”
Navsari District Collector also announced, “All Anganwadis, Schools, Colleges, and ITIs in Navsari District will remain closed on Wednesday, 24/07/2024, as part of security measures in view of the current situation in Navsari District due to heavy rains and the red alert issued by the Meteorological Department. Online education can be continued.”
Bharuch District Collector also announced a holiday in schools today and said, “In view of the heavy rains and the alert issued by the Meteorological Department, all Anganwadis, Schools, Colleges, and ITIs in all talukas except Jambusar, Amod, Wagra of Bharuch district will remain closed on Wednesday, 24/07/2024, as a security measure. Online education can be continued.”
In another update, the Surat administration had already announced the closure of schools for students on Wednesday. DeshGujarat
