Mehsana: The local traders in Kheralu today observed a bandh following the murder of a cable operator. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad called for the bandh, which was supported by the traders, as they kept their shops and businesses closed since the morning. The cable operator, named Gautam Barot, was stabbed to death near Desai Wadi in the city on Wednesday.
A senior police officer stated, “A murder was committed near Desai Wadi in which Gautam Barot, a resident of Barotwas, Khelaru, was killed. He had a long-standing issue regarding a financial transaction with one Firozkhan Rahim Khan Chauhan. While passing on the road on a motorcycle, a fight broke out, and Firozkhan threw Gautam off the bike and fatally attacked him. During the attack, Barot was stabbed near the neck and was taken to Vadnagar Civil Hospital, where the doctors pronounced him dead.”
“We have taken the complaint from Gautam’s son, Meet, and the accused is currently absconding. We have deployed the local crime branch, Special Operations Group, and local police to apprehend the accused. As of now, only one person has been named as the accused, but if any other names emerge during the investigation, we will take appropriate action.” the officer added. DeshGujarat
