Water level at Ukai dam crosses 100 m level

Surat: On 2nd of August 2024, at 6 am, the level of water in Ukai dam touched 100 m level. The highest level in Ukai dam is 105.16, while the rule level mandated up to 1st September is 102.11 m.

Ukai Dam is continuing to witness an inflow of over 60,000 cuescs from upstream. Barring merely 600 cusecs of discharge in the canal, no discharge is being done in river Tapi, and therefore Ukai is being filled continuously. On 3rd August at 6 am, the level was 100.39 with over 79,000 cusecs inflow.

Located on the river Tapi, Ukai is the second largest dam in Gujarat after Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam. It is the source of water for parts of South Gujarat, including the city of Surat.
