ACB Gujarat nabs police constable and accomplice in bribe case

Rajkot: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Gujarat today nabbed a police constable and his accomplice in a bribery case involving ₹25,000 in Rajkot.
According to the details of the case, an application was filed against the complainant at Panchayat Chowki, University Police Station, Rajkot City. The investigation of the that was entrusted to the accused police constable, Vipul Shardulbhai Olakia. During the investigation, the accused demanded ₹25,000 as a bribe from the complainant in order to not harass him. The accused told the complainant to pay the bribe to his accomplice, Bhavinbhai Maganbhai Rughani.
However, since the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, he contacted the ACB Jamnagar through a toll-free number. Following this, a trap was set up by the ACB, and both accused were caught red-handed while accepting the bribe of ₹25,000 from the complainant. DeshGujarat
