Gujarat completes nearly 72% of average monsoon rainfall

Gandhinagar: Gujarat has received 635.29 mm of rainfall so far this monsoon season, which accounts for 71.95% of the state’s average annual rainfall.
According to data from the State Emergency Operation Centre as of 6 AM today, all 251 talukas in the state have received rainfall. Kutch leads in terms of average monsoon rainfall with 87.40% (423.80 mm), followed by South Gujarat at 86.22% (1,286.37 mm) and Saurashtra at 79.44% (586.16 mm). The East Central and North Gujarat regions have recorded 56.09% (454.81 mm) and 53.85% (393.06 mm) of their seasonal averages, respectively.
Valsad district in South Gujarat has recorded the highest rainfall this season with 1,987.83 mm so far, followed by Navsari at 1,894.00 mm and Dang at 1,499.00 mm.
Talukas that have received over 1,000 mm (39 inches) of rainfall include Dwarka, Kalyanpur, Khambhalia, Porbandar, Ranavav, Junagadh, Junagadh City, Keshod, Maliya Hatina, Manavadar, Mendarda, Vanthali, Visavadar, Talala, Patan-Veraval, Netrang, Songadh, Valod, Vyara, Dolvan, Bardoli, Kamrej, Mahuva, Olpad, Palsana, Surat City, Umarpada, Chikhli, Gandevi, Jalalpore, Khergam, Navsari, Vansada, Dharampur, Kaprada, Pardi, Umbergaon, Valsad, Vapi, Dang-Ahwa, Subir, and Vaghai.
