Vadodara: Relief and rescue operations are going on across Gujarat as heavy rains continue to lash the state. In Mota Tokri village of Chhota Udepur, a girl trapped in a rushing river was safely rescued after a challenging three-and-a-half-hour operation by the district fire department and local swimmers.
In Vadodara, an NDRF team, along with the fire brigade, rescued a pregnant woman and her husband who were trapped in floodwaters on Savli Road, Sama. The joint operation took place at Harani Sama Link Road, ensuring the couple’s safety.
In Khambhaliya, Devbhoomi Dwarka, heavy rainfall has led to severe flooding. The municipality’s fire team evacuated around 25 people from the flooded YKGN residential society, moving them to a safe location. The district administration has urged residents in low-lying areas to relocate and contact authorities if needed.
In Porbandar, rescue teams, including the Navy, rescued a person trapped in floodwaters in the Morana village. Additionally, a pregnant woman was safely transported for treatment after being stranded due to a blocked road in a rural area near Porbandar. The rescue operation was conducted between Bileswar and Khambhala village, with the woman eventually being brought to safety and taken to Porbandar for medical care. DeshGujarat
