September 05, 2024
Rajkot: Indian cricket team’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has embarked on a new innings in politics by joining the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). His wife, Rivaba Jadeja, a BJP MLA from the Jamnagar North assembly seat, recently shared the news on social media, announcing that Ravindra has officially joined the BJP.
Rivaba entered politics in 2019 and successfully contested the 2022 Jamnagar assembly election, defeating AAP’s Karshanbhai Karmur.
Ravindra Jadeja, 35, retired from T20 Internationals after India’s historic T20 World Cup 2024 victory against South Africa in June. He has actively campaigned alongside his wife, participating in various roadshows and supporting the BJP during elections.
On September 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed party workers during the launch of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s National Membership Campaign 2024, emphasizing that the BJP operates in accordance with its constitution. PM Modi also became the first member of the campaign by renewing his party membership through a missed call.
The BJP’s membership drive began in Gujarat on September 3, with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel becoming one of the first new members. The party aims to enroll over 2 crore members from the state during this campaign.
