Ganesh murtis broken by a person in Vadodara; Raopura police nab accused

Vadodara: An unidenfied person vandalized murtis of Ganesh at various Ganesh Utsav venues in Vadodara. The incidents in which Ganesh murtis were broken by unidentified person in the night hours when none other was there, occured on Rajmahal road and Dandiyabazar area. The Ganesh mandal venues targetted were Ranchhod Yuvak Mandal, Pragati Yuvak Mandal and Khadiya Pol Mandal.
An alert and popular local corporator Jagruti Kaka rushed to the venues and joined locals in demanding action against the person responsible for this act. Vandalzied murtis were replaced with new ones. An unidentified person who was captured in CCTV camera not just broke murtis but also committed theft. Locals approached Raopura police station in this regard.
Raopura police in its promot investigation nabbed identified the culprit and nabbed him. According to police the accused Kunal Godadiya is held. He is from Godadiyavas in Navapura area. Kunal lives with his grandmother and he has no parents. He has habit of chewing gutkha. In order to search for money to buy Gutkha packets, he visited Ganesh Utsav venues in the nights. While searching for money, he dislocated murtis and as the murtis were made of soil, they suffered damages. He also stole lights and kalash from one of Ganesh Utsav venues.
