Surendranagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed a Class 3 employee of the Chotila Mamlatdar’s office in a bribery case involving a sum of Rs. 40,000.
According to the details of the case, the relative of the complainant had purchased land in Navagam Survey No. 65 via a sale document, which he wanted to register in Navagam Sample No. 6. To carry out this work, the accused, Jigneshbhai Haribhai Patdia, posted as Circle Officer (Class 3) in the Mamlatdar Office in Chotila, initially demanded a bribe of Rs. 1,00,000. After negotiations, the bribe amount was reduced to Rs. 40,000.
As the complainant did not want to pay this bribe, he lodged a complaint with the ACB by calling Toll-Free No. 1064. After this, a bribery trap was set up today, in which the accused was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount of Rs. 40,000. DeshGujarat
