September 24, 2024
Vadodara: Eight private hospitals in the city are under scrutiny following allegations that they have been flouting the rules of the Ayushman Bharat Card scheme.
In the preliminary probe by health department teams from the Vadodara Municipal Corporation and the state government, several loopholes have been found, including issues in chemotherapy treatment and overdoses of medications.
It has been alleged that the hospitals are taking cash from patients who hold Ayushman cards. The hospitals accused of violating the rules include Himalaya Cancer Hospital, Bankar Heart Hospital, Turning Hospital, Anjana Hospital, Naik Hospital, Narayan Smriti Hospital, SMH Hospital, and Vital Hospital.
The complaint was initiated by a local insurance firm, and official details will emerge after the probe is completed. DeshGujarat
