Sabarkantha: The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has nabbed an Additional Assistant Engineer (Class 3) and a contractual technical assistant from the Poshina Taluka Panchayat office in a bribery case involving a sum of Rs. 31,000.
The complainant had carried out government development works in the Poshina area from 2017 to 2021, for which a deposit of Rs. 2,50,000 had been submitted. When the complainant approached the accused, Pareshkumar Bhikhabhai Parmar, posted as Additional Assistant Engineer (Class 3) at the Poshina Taluka Panchayat Office, and Jigar Kumar Natwarbhai Patel (contractual technical assistant), they allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 31,000 to return the deposit of Rs. 2,50,000.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant reported the matter to the Banaskantha ACB.
