Gujarat Congress asks four cadres from different caste segments to file nominations for Vav bypoll
October 24, 2024
Palanpur: Gujarat Congress leadership has asked four of its cadres to file nominations for candidature for Vav assembly seat by-election. Later three of them will withdraw their nominations.
The main opposition Congress party asked Gulabsinh Rajput, Thakarshi Rabari, KP Gadhvi and Bhavaji Thakor today afternoon over phone calls to file nominations for by-polls tomorrow. While Gulabsinh is from Rajput community, KP Gadhvi is from Gadhvi community. Bhavaji Thakor is from Thakor community, while Thakarshi Rabari is from Maldhari community.
Party insiders claim that this move is taken by Congress leadership to confuse the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) about Congress candidate and keep BJP in guessing mode. BJP has not declared its candidate so far. Congress sources claim, the BJP is waiting for Congress to declare its candidate, in order to know his caste background before declaring own candidate, as the constituency has presence of various caste segments.
The last date of filing nominations is tomorrow. DeshGujarat
