Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez’s wife Begoña Gómez visits Parul University in Vadodara

Vadodara: Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is on a three-day visit to India with his wife, Begoña Gómez. Today, while PM Sánchez and PM Modi inaugurated the TATA Aircraft Complex for the Made-in-India C-295 aircraft, Begoña Gómez visited Parul University. As a guest of the university, Gómez received a warm welcome from students from Gujarat and abroad and even joined Gujarati students in playing Garba.

During her visit, she engaged with the founders of 12 student-led startups across various fields, from technology to healthcare. She explored the resources available to aspiring entrepreneurs, including guidance, funding opportunities, and support for market launches. Parul University’s incubation center was selected by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs from among four centers in Gujarat to showcase the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Gujarat and India.

Gómez interacted with the founders and co-founders of student-led ventures such as MedRef Healthbridge, Yield Pro Earth Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Cardio, Dori Handcrafts, Plantpact Innovations Pvt. Ltd., IndieSemiC Pvt. Ltd., ECorrect Pvt. Ltd., and others, representing sectors like technology, healthcare, sustainable energy, and agriculture. Parul University also operates startup accelerators across Gujarat, including in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, and Surat.

Through interactions with students and mentors, Gómez gained insights into the diverse approaches of these student start-ups, from eco-friendly agricultural solutions to innovative health tech. In her keynote address, she praised the university’s efforts, saying, “You are doing an incredible job in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation through the incubation center, and I’m thrilled to engage with such passionate young innovators.
