La Pino’z Pizza, KFC outlet sealed; Lucky Restaurant fined ₹10,000 in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Taking strict action against public littering and unhygienic practices, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Monday sealed 9 outlets. Four outlets were sealed in the West Zone, while five outlets in the Northwest Zone were sealed. Among the sealed outlets were renowned food chains like KFC and La Pino’z Pizza. Additionally, Lucky Restaurant in Lal Darwaza was fined ₹10,000 for having unhygienic kitchen conditions.

AMC’s Solid Waste Management Department inspected 300 units in West Ahmedabad, issuing notices to 240 of them. In the Northwest Zone, 121 units were inspected, and 62 were served notices. The civic body also seized 4.5 kg of banned plastic and collected Rs. 74,000 in fines. In the West Zone, 178 units were served notices, and fines totaling Rs. 1.41 lakh were collected.

The sealed units include KFC Gota, SG Highway; Sharma Pan Parlour, Gota; La Pino’z, Chandlodia; Ardha Shakti Motors, Chandlodia; Krishna Metric Works, Ghatlodia; Jai Ambe Tea Stall, Subhash Circle; Ashok Pan Parlour, Panjarapol; Baker Stand, IIM Road; and Ashok Pan Parlour, Mithakhali.

Jashwantsinh Vaghela, Chairman of the National Consumer Protection Agency, had filed a complaint with the AMC’s health department regarding unhygienic conditions in the kitchen of Lucky Restaurant.
