Bhavnagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Bhavnagar has nabbed an additional head constable, Virbhadrasinh Jetavat, of Nilambaug police station, along with a middleman, Jitendra Dave, in a bribe case involving the sum of Rs. 50,000.

According to the ACB, a complainant in this case was called by Nilambaug police station to record a statement in connection with an application submitted to the police station by the complainant’s sister.

The complainant was asked to pay a bribe of Rs. 70,000 or face harassment in connection with the application filed by his sister. Although a compromise had been reached between the two parties, the accused cop demanded Rs. 70,000 as a bribe for not registering a formal complaint.

The complainant transferred a sum of Rs. 20,000 as a bribe to the accused cop via Google Pay. He was then repeatedly contacted by the accused cop and the middleman, Dave, for the payment of the remaining bribe amount of Rs. 50,000.
