Vadodara: Just days after the brutal killing of Tapan Parmar, son of a former BJP councilor, incidents of glass bottle hurling in Hindu-populated areas have come to light. Within the jurisdiction of the Raopura Police Station, glass bottles were hurled in the streets of Jogidas Vitthal Pol on both Monday and Tuesday nights. Although no casualties or injuries were reported, the incidents have instilled fear among the local Hindu residents.

Speaking to the media at the site of the stone-pelting incident, DCP Zone-4 Panna Momaya stated that combing operations have been initiated in the area. Security arrangements on tall buildings and structures are being enhanced, and additional personnel will be deployed at fixed points. Efforts are underway to locate the individual responsible for throwing the glass bottles.

Rawal Vas, situated in Raopura’s Jogidas Vitthal ni Pol, has witnessed recurring incidents. On Monday evening, between 7:30 and 8:00 PM, glass bottles were thrown in the area, alarming residents. Again on Tuesday, bottles were thrown, creating an atmosphere of fear. Glass shards scattered across the road after the bottle shattered, heightening tensions.

DCP Panna Momaya, along with teams from the Crime Branch, SOG, PCB, and Karelibagh police, arrived at the scene. Combing operations were conducted in the surrounding homes.

Meanwhile, in the aftermath of Tapan Parmar’s death, the Dalit community in Mehtawadi has demanded the immediate establishment of a police post to ensure the safety of Hindus. Gautam Gedia, the state president of BJP’s Scheduled Castes Morcha, has taken up the issue with the city police commissioner.

Before meeting the city police commissioner, Gedia visited Mehtawadi and met the family of the deceased along with members of the Dalit community. The community demanded that a police post be set up on a war footing in Mehtawadi. They also called for strict action against antisocial elements from minority communities who are allegedly bullying Hindus into vacating their homes in Nagarwada. Additionally, they demanded that the Disturbed Areas Act be implemented in the region and that Babar Pathan, accused of stabbing Tapan to death, be sentenced to death.

After hearing these concerns, the BJP leader submitted a written representation to the city police commissioner, urging immediate action on the matter. DeshGujarat
