ST bus service from Gandhinagar Sector 1 Metro Station launched

Gandhinagar: The metro train service between Motera in Ahmedabad and Sector 1 of the state capital was launched around two months ago, but commuters were facing issues as there was no proper connectivity from the Sector 1 metro station to other locations in the city. To resolve this, a State Transport (ST) bus service has been started from Sector 1 metro station. Using the ST bus, commuters will be able to travel from Sector 1 metro station to Pathikashram and Sachivalaya (Secretariat). Additionally, local express buses are also available at Sector 1 metro station, allowing people who use the metro to travel from Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar to further move around the city to their destinations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 20.8 km long corridor of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase II from Sector-1 Station on September 16, 2024. Phase II extends the North-South Metro Corridor of Ahmedabad Metro Phase I. The main line is an extension of the APMC to Motera line and stretches to Mahatma Mandir, while the branch line starts at GNLU and ends at GIFT City.

The operational metro route has eight stations over a 15.4 km stretch from Motera to Sector-1, with six stations: GNLU, Raysan, Randesan, Dholakuva Circle, Infocity, and Sector-1. Additionally, the project includes a 5.4 km Gift City link line with two stations: PDEU and Gift City. The total cost of the project is ₹3,284 crores. DeshGujarat
