Dhari to become 160th Municipality in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government has decided to grant the status of a municipality to Dhari Gram Panchayat of Amreli district.
This Dhari Municipality will be formed by merging the Prempara, Haripara, Vekariapara, Navapara-Linepara group of Gram Panchayats surrounding Dhari in Dhari Gram Panchayat.
Dhari in Amreli district is located at a distance of 6 kilometers from the Ambardi Safari Park and the ancient Galdhara Khodiyar Mata Temple.
Not only this, Dhari is home to the Gir East Sanctuary and forest areas, so a large number of tourists come throughout the year.
The State Chief Minister has decided to grant the status of a municipality to Dhari with the aim of tourism development so that the tourists coming to the Ambardi Safari Park and Gir East Sanctuary area get more facilities and that local employment and socio-economic life also improve.
Since about 25 villages of Dhari taluka are in forest areas, sometimes when forest fires occur, the intention is also to provide firefighters and firefighting services easily and timely through this municipality.
With Dhari getting the status of a municipality, this area will get comprehensive development and tourism will get a boost, and the ease of living of the people will also increase due to the citizen-oriented facilities of the municipality.
This Dhari municipality will become the 160th municipality in the state.
At present, 22 ‘A’ class, 30 ‘B’ class, 60 ‘C’ class and 42 ‘D’ class municipalities are functioning, making a total of 159 municipalities. Now this new ‘D’ class municipality, Dhari Municipality, will be added to it.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has also taken another decision and approved the proposal to include Javanpura-Sadatpura village and society area in Idar Municipality of Sabarkantha. Responding positively to the long-standing demand of the people of Idar, the Chief Minister has decided to merge these two Gram Panchayats into Idar Municipality.
As a result, the area of Idar city will now increase, so the TP scheme or development plan will be done easily and the development of the entire area will get a boost.
