Platform 2 and 3 at Surat railway station to shut for 98 days; 83 trains to halt at Udhna

Surat: As part of the ongoing work to upgrade Surat Railway Station into an MMTH (Multi-Modal Transport Hub), platforms 2 and 3 will be closed from December 7th. As a result, more than half of the trains currently stationed at Surat will be shifted to Udhna station. Around 15% of the trains will be moved to the Udhna terminal.

These platforms will remain closed for approximately 98 days. Of the 180 trains that currently halt at Surat Station, 83 will be shifted to Udhna, while 66 will continue to be handled at Surat. Additionally, 31 trains that either start or terminate at Surat will be redirected to Udhna. Premium trains will also have their platforms changed at Surat. The time gap between trains will be reduced during this period.

The work on platforms 2 and 3 will involve tasks such as the construction of COP foundations, roof foundations, lifts, columns, and beams. It is also noteworthy that the redevelopment of platform 4 has been completed at Surat Railway Station, but due to issues with road access and parking in the eastern area, platform 4 remains closed for now.
