Bhavnagar gets Rs. 115 crore Pratham Overbridge; one side opened for public
December 10, 2024
Bhavnagar: The one-way stretch of the first flyover bridge, spanning one and a half kilometers from Desainagar to Shastrinagar, was inaugurated on Monday. Built at a cost of Rs. 115.59 crore over a period of more than 4 years, the overbridge was opened for public use for the benefit of city residents.
Currently, the one side from Desainagar to Shastrinagar is operational, while the other side is expected to be ready and operational in 2 months. This flyover has been constructed to address the growing traffic congestion at the city’s main entry point.
Local MLA and former Gujarat BJP chief Jitu Vaghani inaugurated the flyover in the presence of Mayor Bharatbhai Barda, MLA Sejalben Pandya, Standing Committee Chairman Raju Rabdiya, Deputy Mayor, local officials, and civic representatives.
It is worth noting that the bridge connecting Gadhechi Vadla to Jewellers Circle and the one connecting Kumbharwada Road are still under construction. Hence, only the one-way side has been opened for now. DeshGujarat
