Diamond traders showcase unique rings ranging up to Rs 10 crore at Sparkle Exhibition in Surat

Surat: With plans to rejuvenate the diamond market, Surat traders are creating jewellery with innovative and attractive designs. At the Sparkle Exhibition organised by the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, rings with new designs are being showcased, ranging from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 10 crore, catering to both genders.

However, the ring attracting wide attention is a jasmine ring made of natural pink diamonds, with an international price of Rs 5 crore. With NRI clients increasingly visiting India, Surat designers have created unique diamond jewellery and special rings to meet their preferences.

Designers in Surat have also made strides in crafting diamond rings specifically for men. The princess-cut ring is a standout design, crafted with male customers in mind. The ring features a 10-carat princess-cut solitaire diamond, highly embellished and set in 18-carat white gold. Priced at Rs 10 crore, this ring targets individuals with a luxurious lifestyle.

On the other hand, the Jasmine Flower Ring, worth Rs 5 crore, is crafted from a natural pink diamond, considered extremely rare. Industry experts state that these pink diamonds are discovered only after examining nearly one lakh diamonds. The centrepiece of the jasmine ring is a 5-carat natural diamond, surrounded by 25 pink diamonds of 1.25 carats each. Furthermore, the ring is adorned with 350 white diamonds totalling 3.4 carats. Crafted in white gold, this ring is a favourite among rare pink diamond enthusiasts, as these diamonds are considered some of the rarest in the world.

Businessman Umakant Gupta noted that diamond rings are no longer limited to women; the demand for luxury rings among men is growing and is expected to strengthen further. “Diamonds are not only ornaments but also represent Indian design and craftsmanship in the global market. Our princess-cut ring is an attempt to redefine men’s preferences for diamonds. It symbolises luxury and elegance. While it was once assumed that only women were drawn to diamond jewellery, men are now equally passionate about solitaire diamonds, both nationally and internationally,” Gupta said.

Another trader remarked that, amid the downturn in the diamond industry, Surat designers have emerged as leaders with innovative designs for the global market. December, being the wedding season, attracts significant shopping, particularly from NRI clients. “To cater to this demand, we have introduced unique fusion rings. This initiative is expected to revitalise the diamond market and elevate Surat’s global prominence in the diamond industry,” the trader added.

Speaking about the pink diamond ring, the trader explained that it was designed especially for NRI clients, with a price tag of Rs 5 crore. For those seeking more affordable options, a Rs 25 lakh sunflower ring has been introduced. This ring is celebrated for its unique design and colour combination, featuring a 2-carat natural diamond at its centre, along with 25 purple diamonds of 2.5 carats and 304 white diamonds totalling 3.04 carats. This butterfly ring caters to customers looking for exquisite yet reasonably priced jewellery.

Another butterfly ring, designed for a modest budget, is priced at Rs 2.7 lakh. Specially crafted for women, this ring is made of rose gold and features 273 diamonds weighing 4.10 carats. Its decoration with white and sky-coloured enamel further enhances its charm, making it a stunning and affordable choice for buyers. DeshGujarat
