Harassment of Hindus in Anadej village; memorandum submitted to Sanand Prant officer

Sanand: Hindus residing in Anadej village have submitted a memorandum to Sanand Prant Officer, alleging oppression, harassment, and encroachments around public places, roads, and temples by members of the Muslim community. They have also raised concerns about incidents of eve-teasing targeting Hindu women.

Residents of Anadej village met Prant Officer D.B. Tank to present their grievances. They stated that more than 70% of the village’s population belongs to minority communities. Last year, during the consecration celebrations of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Hindu families across the village organized events, including Ramdhun and processions. However, these events had to be conducted under police security due to threats from certain individuals. Subsequently, these individuals allegedly opened a tea stall near the Hindu locality, where miscreants gathered late at night, creating an atmosphere of fear. Additionally, women and girls passing through the area were reportedly harassed and subjected to inappropriate comments.

It was also reported that when Hindu families attempted to install gates to safeguard their locality, they were allegedly confronted by an armed mob that stopped the installation. Following this, the harassment reportedly intensified.

Frustrated by the escalating harassment, the residents submitted a memorandum to Prant Officer D.B. Tank, demanding immediate action. The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and other Hindu organizations have extended their support to the residents’ demands for relief from the alleged oppression. DeshGujarat
