2nd Road to Heavan Ekal-Babhanka Road Closed for Visitors to Facilitate Construction Work

Bhuj: The Ekal-Babhanka road, which is currently under construction, has been closed to visitors due to the increasing interference of tourist traffic. The road had recently gained popularity, with many visitors referring to it as the “second road to heaven” in Kutch, thanks to its stunning views of the White Rann of Kutch. However, the influx of vehicles on the under-construction road, where soil work is still in progress, was hampering the ongoing construction efforts.

To ensure smooth and timely completion of the project, the local administration has now placed barricades and imposed a ban on visitor entry until the roadwork is finished. Authorities hope that this will allow construction teams to work without disruptions and ensure the road is completed in a safe and efficient manner.

The Ekal-Babhanka road had quickly gained fame for offering breathtaking views similar to the original “road to heaven” in Kutch, which remains open and continues to draw large crowds of visitors. Like the original route, the Ekal-Babhanka road provides panoramic vistas of the vast, white salt Rann, making it an attractive spot for tourists and photographers.

Once completed, the Ekal-Babhanka road will significantly improve connectivity in the region. It will link Khadir Bet, a prominent location in the Rann of Kutch, to the Taluka headquarters of Bhachau, reducing the travel distance between the two from 150 km to just 70 km. This new road will also provide a faster route for travelers to and from several villages, including Chobari, Bharudiya, Kakarva, Ramvav, Kuda-Jampar, Kanthkot, Kharoi, Kankkhoi, and Manfara, all of which will be just 45 minutes away from Khadir.
