Surat: The second phase of the Surat Station redevelopment project is set to commence on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 00:00 hrs. This phase of construction is expected to last approximately 60 days. As part of this project, platforms 2 and 3 will remain blocked for passenger movement. Additionally, line 3, a common loop used for traffic, will also be inaccessible during this period.
Due to this work, certain UP and Down trains will skip their scheduled halts at Surat Station and instead halt at Udhna Station. Some trains will be short-terminated or partially canceled, while others will be extended.
Detailed information regarding train adjustments, including specific trains affected, is provided below:
The project, estimated at ₹980 crore, is expected to be completed by December 2026.
Phase I of the redevelopment, which involved relocating key utilities such as RPF barracks, a hospital unit, and a Running Room, has been completed and handed over to the Railways. Work on the east-side station building is progressing rapidly, while the concourse construction at Platform 4 under Phase II has also been finalized. Construction work on Platforms 2 and 3 is set to begin on January 8. DeshGujarat
