PM Modi dedicates frontline naval combatants INS Surat, INS Nilgiri & INS Vaghsheer from Mumbai

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Maharashtra today, where he is commissioning three major naval combatants—INS Surat, INS Nilgiri, and INS Vaghsheer—at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai. Later, at 3:30 PM, he will inaugurate the ISKCON Temple in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.

The commissioning of these frontline naval vessels underscores India’s advancements in defence manufacturing and maritime security. INS Surat, part of the P15B Guided Missile Destroyer Project, features 75% indigenous content and advanced weapon-sensor systems. INS Nilgiri, the first ship of the P17A Stealth Frigate Project, boasts cutting-edge stealth and survivability capabilities. INS Vaghsheer, the final submarine in the P75 Scorpene Project, represents India’s growing expertise in submarine construction, developed in collaboration with France’s Naval Group.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple, an ISKCON project spanning nine acres in Navi Mumbai. The temple includes deities, a Vedic education center, proposed museums, an auditorium, and a healing center. The project aims to foster universal harmony and promote Vedic teachings. DeshGujarat
