Gujarat govt to deploy more GSRTC buses to Prayagraj Maha Kumbh; First bus leaves

Gandhinagar: To facilitate the pilgrimage to Prayagraj for the devotees of Gujarat along with their families, a daily Prayagraj AC Volvo bus has been started from Gujarat from today. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel flagged off the first bus going to Prayagraj from Gandhinagar Circuit House and started the ‘Chalo, Kumbh Chale’ Yatra. Speaking on this occasion, Transport Minister Harsh Sanghavi said that a decision to provide more buses will be taken after making arrangements including accommodation so that the passengers do not face any inconvenience on the journey route and more devotees from Gujarat can go to Prayagraj with their families.

With chanting of mantras and rituals as per Indian culture and tradition, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Transport Minister Harsh Sanghvi respectfully welcomed all the devotees going to Prayagraj in the first Volvo bus and wished them a pleasant journey.

Minister Harsh Sanghvi said that the positive decision to enable the devotees of Gujarat to go to Prayagraj and take a dip in the Mahakumbh has received a very good response. As soon as the online booking started, the booking was filled within a few hours.

A decision will be taken to provide more buses so that more devotees from Gujarat can go to Prayagraj with their families. This decision will be taken by making arrangements including accommodation so that the passengers do not face any inconvenience on the journey route.

As per the current schedule, an AC Volvo bus will leave for Prayagraj from Ranip ST Depot, Ahmedabad every morning at 7 am. A 3 night/4 day package for Rs. 8100 per person has been prepared by a joint venture of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation and Tourism Corporation for the devotees of Gujarat. This package includes accommodation and bus travel for all 3 nights. The night stay at Prayagraj has been done at the dormitory of Gujarat Pavilion. DeshGujarat
