Indian cricket team to face England in T20 clash at Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot tomorrow

Rajkot: The Indian cricket team was welcomed in the city last night as they arrived to play the 3rd T20 match of the England tour of India against the English side on Tuesday.

Team India, which is leading the series 2-0 in the 5-match series, will face England at Niranjan Shah Stadium on January 28. The Indian team aims to win this match to seal the tournament. The stadium has a seating capacity of over 28,000 cricket fans, and in the last 5 T20 matches played here, India has won three.

The pitch at Niranjan Shah Stadium is known to be batter-friendly, offering reasonable pace and bounce. This allows batters to play on the up. Chasing on this ground can be challenging, as the conditions in the second innings may vary. The flat and hard nature of the pitch assists batters early on, but teams batting second tend to struggle in the latter stages.

The average score at the venue for T20 internationals is 189, and the skipper would likely prefer to win the toss and choose to bat first, taking advantage of the batting-friendly pitch.
