Keshod Airport Expansion: Tender Process Underway for Runway Extension, Link Taxiway and more

Keshod: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued tenders for development projects at Keshod Airport in Gujarat.
This project includes extension and strengthening Runway 05/23, along with construction of a link taxiway, a Parallel Taxi Track(PTT), an apron, an isolation bay, a perimeter road, and an operational boundary wall. Additionally, the development will incorporate a comprehensive drainage system and various related civil and electrical works to improve the airport’s operational capacity and infrastructure.
The estimated cost for the project is Rs. 161.49 crores (excluding GST). Completion is anticipated within 18 months after awarding of works, allowing for a two-month buffer during the monsoon season.
The final date for bid submissions set for January 28, 2025. The expansion and modernization of Keshod Airport will help in enhancing air connectivity in the Sorath region that has presence of the world’s only Asiatic Gir lion sanctuary, Somnath first Jyotirling mandir and ancient city Junagadh with Gujarat’s tallest mountain Girnar.
