Process underway for DPR for Breakwater and Jetty infrastructure development at Porbandar

Delhi: Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES Ltd), a public sector undertaking, has issued an open domestic tender for the appointment of a sub-consultant to conduct geotechnical investigations. This work is part of the larger project to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of a breakwater, jetty, and associated infrastructure at Porbandar, Gujarat.
The estimated cost of the project, aimed at supporting the construction of critical maritime infrastructure at Porbandar, is Rs. 1,22,50,000. The breakwater helps prevent beach erosion by blocking longshore currents. Porbandar is a major fishing port. Bids that were invited on 6 January 2025 are to be opened on 28 January.
The contractor as per the tender terms will have to do Geotechnical investigations in the form of boreholes and collect sub soil data that are required for planning & designing of marine structures such as jetty & breakwater, dredging, building & other structures. Contractor shall Prepare the Geo-Technical Report including field & laboratory reports, analysis of data, type & depth of foundation with recommendations for the design of foundations with any ground improvement techniques if required along with determination of the net, safe and allowable bearing capacity and calculation sheets in consultation with Contract Manager or his representative of RITES.
