IT searches across Gujarat at premises linked to Dev Salt

Jamnagar: The Income Tax Department is carrying out searches at several locations across Gujarat at premises linked to salt manufacturer Dev Salt Private Limited. It is learned that searches are being conducted in Jamnagar, Morbi, and Ahmedabad at around 16 premises, including offices and factories associated with the Dev Group of Companies.
The search operation began early this morning, with teams of IT officials from Rajkot and Ahmedabad launching investigations in Malia, Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, and Morbi. In Ahmedabad, the location under scrutiny includes the corporate office of the Dev Group of Companies, located on SG Highway.
The IT department officials are also conducting searches at the premises of D. S. Jhala and Hitendra Jhala. Other premises under investigation include Hotel Highway Hari, located on the Jamnagar-Dwarka Highway. Additionally, the department has raided the main factory of Dev Salt in Maliya Miyana taluka of Morbi district, carrying out an intensive search.
Around 30 Income Tax Department officials are involved in the search operation in Ahmedabad, while different teams have been deployed at various locations of the Dev Salt Group, which operates a salt production facility in Maliya Miyana taluka of Morbi district. Approximately 100 officers and staff members are participating in the entire operation.
This large-scale operation, being carried out ahead of the financial year-end in March, is expected to expose major benami transactions. DeshGujarat
