Traffic restrictions & diversions announced in Ahmedabad for Walkathon on February 15

Ahmedabad: The city police have announced traffic restrictions and diversions on the West River Drive due to the Walkathon event scheduled for tomorrow. The event, aimed at promoting health and fitness, will see the participation of a large number of schoolchildren.

Sharad Singhal, IPS, In-charge Police Commissioner, Ahmedabad City, has issued an order regarding the Walkathon event scheduled to be held on February 15, 2025, at the Sabarmati Riverfront (West Road). To ensure smooth vehicular movement amid the crowd and prevent road accidents, traffic restrictions and diversions will be implemented as detailed below.

Roads Restricted for Vehicular Movement:

The road from Usmanpura Riverfront Garden Trisection to Gujarat Sahitya Parishad Riverfront Tea Point, to Hariharanand Circle, to Riverfront West Police Station, to under Riverfront West Ambedkar Bridge will remain closed to vehicular traffic.

Alternate Routes:

Vehicles can use the following alternate route: From Usmanpura Riverfront Garden Trisection to Gujarat Vidyapith Lane, then take a left under the Income Tax Bridge, proceed to Income Tax Crossroads, continue to Buttasinh Mahadev Temple Crossroads, take a left onto Ashram Road, and continue to Paldi Crossroads and Anjali Crossroads.

This notification does not apply to vehicles associated with the event, government vehicles on duty, fire brigades, ambulances, or emergency vehicles. This order will be enforced under the provisions of Section 33 of the Gujarat Police Act, 1951, from 6:00 AM on February 15, 2025, until the event concludes. DeshGujarat
