UP bound passenger held at Ahmedabad airport with Gold hidden in luggage trolley

Ahmedabad: A passenger at Ahmedabad airport was held with Rs. 35.36 lakh worth of gold after he arrived from Sharjah on an Air Arabia flight. On Thursday morning, a Uttar Pradesh-bound passenger was caught by the Customs department as he was in possession of 399.460 grams of 24-karat gold. He had placed the gold in the handle of a luggage trolley. The passenger was from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Since January 1st this year, the Customs department has recovered gold worth Rs. 4.71 crore from passengers at SVPI airport in Ahmedabad. DeshGujarat
