Engineering Marvel Gallery at Science City, ICT Park & co-working space proposed in Gujarat Budget 2025

Japan K Pathak, Gandhinagar: Gujarat Science City in Ahmedabad will have an “Engineering Marvel Gallery.” Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai has proposed an allocation of Rs. 5 crore for financial year 2025 in annual budget.

As per the details of budget allocations proposed under the Science & Technology Department, a Rs. 11 crore allocation is made to establish an ICT (Information and Communication Technology) co-working space—ICT Park. The location of this proposed park is not mentioned in the budget documents.

Rs. 50 crore is allocated to develop infrastructure and utility to strengthen the Semiconductor & Electronics ecosystem in the state.

Rs. 4 crore allocation is made to sanction the project “Creation of Genome Database” for the tribal population in Gujarat.

Rs. 10 crore allocation is proposed to establish an early warning system for earthquakes in Gujarat.

Rs. 1.75 crore sum is proposed for the Gin-Tech hub (Gujarat Innovation and Technopreneurship Hub)—STBI’s proposal to empower healthcare solutions, including the global med-tech ecosystem.

Rs. 3.85 crore allocation is made for the development of pilot production and other facilities at STBI, the EPIP/CFC building at the Savli GIDC estate, and Vadodara for technology-led start-ups.

In a major push to Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU), Rs. 1.64 crore sum is proposed to sanction a Centre of Excellence for Bio-AI for One Health here, a Rs. 2.75 crore sum is proposed for a flagship research program, a Rs. 1.37 crore sum is proposed to sanction a research project on E-waste management at GBU, and a Rs. 14 crore sum is proposed to purchase a new research instrument at GBU.

Rs. 2 crore sum is also proposed for enabling reliable connectivity using alternative telecommunication anywhere, anyplace, to serve unserved or difficult terrains, pilgrimage sites, mass gatherings, prime events, disaster situations, etc.  DeshGujarat
