Ahmedabad: In a joint operation, the Gujarat ATS, Faridabad STF, and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) arrested a suspected terrorist in Faridabad, Haryana. Authorities recovered two hand grenades and seized videos containing sensitive information related to specific locations and religious sites.

The suspect, 19-year-old Abdul Rehman from Milkipur, Faizabad (Uttar Pradesh), was tracked to an abandoned house in Pali, Sohna Road, following intelligence inputs from central agencies. After a four-hour operation, he was taken into custody.

Reports indicate that a terrorist organization has become active in Ahmedabad, raising security concerns. Intelligence suggested the presence of two terrorists in Haryana, prompting the raid. While Abdul Rehman has been arrested and a case registered against him, details about the second suspect remain undisclosed.

Reports suggest that the Ram Mandir was a potential target, leading security agencies to step up vigilance in Ayodhya.

Abdul had been living in Pali village under a false identity for several days. He attempted to flee when the raid began but was quickly apprehended. Faridabad police also arrived at the scene during the operation.

The recovery of hand grenades led to the immediate deployment of a bomb disposal squad. As police vehicles arrived, onlookers gathered, but authorities maintained a safe perimeter due to the sensitive nature of the case.

STF officials are now investigating Abdul’s motive, his intended target, and how he acquired the explosives. DeshGujarat
