Banas Dairy’s Modern Semen Production Unit inaugurated at Dama Village near Deesa

Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel virtually inaugurated a modern semen production unit set up with the efforts of Banas Dairy at Dama village of Deesa taluka of Banaskantha through video conference from Gandhinagar. Speaker of Gujarat Legislative Assembly and Chairman of Banas Dairy Shri Shankarbhai Chaudhary, District MLA Sarvashree Keshaji Thakor, Aniketbhai Thakor, Praveenbhai Mali and Swaroopji Thakor participated in this virtual inauguration.

With the aim of producing high pedigree and high milk yielding animals for the cattle farmers, this Make in India semen sex sorting machine will solve the problem of stray cattle in Banaskantha district and will provide more milk producing animals.

The Dama Semen Production Unit operated by Banas Dairy is spread over an area of ​​20 acres. In this A-grade semen station, the best disease-free bulls and heifers have been selected by implementing scientific methods such as genomics breeding value, milk production competition scheme per animal, progeny testing, pedigree selection methods. Through this pool, about 25 lakh quality semen doses will be produced annually.  The indigenous ‘Semen Sex Sorting Machine’ based on ‘Gausort Technology’ developed by NDDB under the ‘Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ is now operational at Dama Semen Station.

Benefits of the Semen Center:-

Ø The use of this technology will solve the problem of stray cattle in Banaskantha

Ø With the production of 90% female calves in the homes of milk producers with this technology, every milk producer will be able to produce double milk in the future. Due to which the income of milk producers will double

Ø Currently, the cost of production per dose is Rs. 730. Which will be reduced to Rs. 280. Due to which there will be a profit of Rs. 450 per dose Will

Ø Currently, the semen dose is given to the milk producer for Rs. 100. This will be reduced to just Rs. 50

In a virtual address on the occasion of the inauguration of this semen center, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that through Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi’s National Gokul Mission, a new revolution in the operation of semen centers was started from Maharashtra for high-quality cattle breeds. The semen center that is being operationalized today at Dama, Deesa will benefit the livestock farmers immensely. As a result of the many animal husbandry schemes started in Gujarat with the vision of Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi, today Gujarat’s milk production has increased by 119.62 percent to one lakh metric tons.

Chief Minister  Patel praised the continuous development journey of dairy under the leadership of Banas Dairy Chairman Shri Shankarbhai Chaudhary. The Chief Minister also praised Banas Dairy for producing other products along with milk, bringing a new revolution in the milk business.

Addressing the program, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and Chairman of Banas Dairy Shankarbhai Chaudhary said that the work of the first Indian-made cement plant center is being done. This is a revolutionary work for farmers. I also express my special gratitude to the scientists of NDDB for this Make in India plant built by NDDB of India. Today, due to this plant, farmers will get a cement dose for just one hundred rupees. There are more than 28 lakh livestock in Banaskantha district. Its breeding is very necessary. Today, we have prepared good breeds of cement in cows and buffaloes. Due to which good breeds of animals will be prepared and milk income will increase. To fulfill the dream of Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi, Banas Dairy has also achieved good results in embryo transplant. Today, good cattle breeds of Indian breed are being born in Gujarat.
