Surat Metro Train Project likely to complete by October 2025

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Legislative Assembly on Monday passed the budget demands for the Urban Development Department for the year 2025-26, amounting to ₹25,399 crore. Responding to the discussion, Cabinet Minister Rushikesh Patel stated that the Urban Development budget has been increased by 40%, reaching ₹30,325 crore compared to the previous year.
Providing updates on metro projects, the minister said that 78.33% of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase-2 has been completed, with the project scheduled for completion by June 2025. Meanwhile, 57.20% of the Surat Metro Rail Project is finished, and it is expected to be completed by October 2025.
Additionally, ₹100 crore has been allocated for the expansion of India’s longest riverfront along the Sabarmati River (Phase 3 to Phase 7, from Indira Bridge to Gandhinagar) over the next three years. DeshGujarat
