Two Local MLAs in Rajasthan seek Mount Abu’s name to be restored as Aburaj; ban on liquor and meat

Mount Abu: Two local MLAs Samaram Garasiya and Otaram Devasi have requested Rajasthan government to change the name of Mount Abu to Aburaj. They have also demanded ban on liquor and non-veg in Mount Abu due to religious importance of this hill station.
Samaram Devasi is Pindwada MLA while Otaram Devasi is MLA and Minister of State in Rajasthan government. In a letter to Rajasthan Chief Minister, both leaders have told that the name of Mount Abu was Aburaj in ancient times and that old and original name should be restored.
They also said that Mount Abu has ancient temples such as Devlwada dahera, Achalgadh Shiv Mandir, Gaumukh, Guru Shikhar and more. They said those coming here with religious feeling are desturbed by those who create troubles after getting drunk. Therefore liquor and public selling of meat must be banned.
