The deadline for submissions, originally set for March 24, has been extended to April 15, 2025.
The state government established the UCC Committee to evaluate the necessity of implementing the code and is currently reviewing existing personal laws governing civil matters. Based on its findings, the committee will propose a legal framework for UCC implementation.
To ensure a comprehensive assessment, the committee has invited inputs from residents, government bodies, NGOs, social groups, religious institutions, and political parties. Suggestions can be submitted through the official portal https://uccgujarat.in/, via email at ucc@gujarat.gov.in, or by sending written submissions to Block No. 1, A-Wing, 6th Floor, Karmayogi Bhavan, Sector-10A, Gandhinagar by April 15.
