Driving test tracks remain shut at several RTO offices in Gujarat due to software glitch
March 21, 2025
Rajkot: The driving test tracks of several RTO offices in Gujarat, including Rajkot, remain closed for the second consecutive day, creating an atmosphere of chaos. The disruption has been caused by a software glitch. Due to the closure of the driving test track in Rajkot, appointments for 800 vehicle drivers have been postponed over the past two days, while more than 450 appointments have been rescheduled in Vadodara, causing inconvenience to applicants seeking driving licenses.
Rajkot RTO officer Ketan Khaped stated that the driving test track at the Rajkot RTO has been closed for two days—yesterday and today. However, this issue is not limited to Rajkot but has affected the entire state of Gujarat. As the driving test tracks remain closed for a second consecutive day due to the software glitch, all appointments scheduled over these two days have been rescheduled. With Saturday and Sunday being holidays, the driving tests will resume as usual from Monday.
Further details indicate that usually, when the driving test track at Rajkot RTO is closed, prior notice is given. However, this time, no such information was provided. As a result, many applicants who did not receive the message regarding the closure faced difficulties upon arriving at the RTO.
An RTO official also confirmed that the track in Vadodara is facing similar software issues, leading to the rescheduling of more than 450 driving test appointments there as well. DeshGujarat
