Fire in Vadodara: One killed in Sayajipura; massive blaze at SRP Group-9 storeroom

Vadodara: The city witnessed two fire incidents this morning, resulting in one fatality. The first fire occurred in a house in the Sayajipura area, reportedly due to a short circuit, leading to the death of one person. Meanwhile, another massive fire broke out in a storeroom at SRP Group-9 in Makarpura. Fire brigade teams are currently on the scene, working to bring the blaze under control.

The Sayajipura incident took place at Vinayak Residency, near Sayajipura Water Tank, where a fire engulfed a fifth-floor apartment in B-Tower, trapping 43-year-old Kiran Kumar Rana, who was alone at home. Rana, an employee of a private company in Halol, had been staying home for the past two months due to illness. As soon as the incident was reported, a firefighting team from Panigate Fire Station arrived and managed to control the blaze, but the victim could not be saved.

The tragedy struck just 10 minutes after the victim’s wife left for work. Forensic teams and police are present at the site for further investigation into the cause of the fire, which is suspected to have erupted due to a short circuit in the air conditioner.
