Groom’s Uncontrolled SUV Injures Over 20 at Wedding Procession in Dahod District

Dahod: A tragic accident occurred during a wedding procession in Raypura village, Zalod taluka of Dahod district, where a groom’s Mahindra XUV car went out of control and injured more than 20 people. The incident took place as the procession was traveling from Chakaliya Mahudi to Raypura.

The groom’s Mahindra XUV, part of the wedding procession, became uncontrollable and plowed into the crowd of attendees in Nishal Faliyu. The accident, which occurred around 6 PM on March 25th, resulted in injuries to over 20 people, some of whom sustained serious injuries.

The car, driven recklessly and at high speed from a nearby field, crashed into the wedding attendees who were seated under a “dhaliya” (temporary shed). Several people suffered head, leg, arm, and chest injuries. The uncontrolled vehicle also crashed into a nearby house, causing damage to the property.

Among the injured were Lalsingh Bhuriya, Thavariben, Jumliben, Surmal Damor, Monikaben Bhuriya, Kantaben Kalara, Pritiben Damor, and Manjulaben Bhuriya, along with several others, totaling over 20 people. The injured were immediately taken to Zalod Government Hospital and Achieve Hospital via 108 ambulance and private vehicles. Those with critical injuries were referred to Zydus Hospital in Dahod.

The driver of the car fled the scene after the accident. Chakaliya Police have arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. They are searching for the driver and the owner of the vehicle based on the car’s registration number. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident was caused by reckless and negligent driving. However, the exact cause of the car losing control is still unclear.
